Harry and the Accion consultants took very complex material and readily digested it for us to make the important decisions required by law. They were diligent in covering specific details and in-depth explanations of both material and the underlying rationale, as well as history of the subject matter. They are always thorough and pay close attention to detail.

Accion's Previous Construction Monitoring Work

Accion is currently engaged by the Georgia Public Service Commission to monitor the construction of Georgia Power Company's McDonough 3 Unit, a 2400 MW, combined cycle project. Recent reviews also include a 1.5 MW wind turbine project and the construction of two nuclear power reactors, with the sufficiency of financing, credit assurances, and contractual obligations being a necessary part of both reviews. Additionally, our consultants have provided services related to prudence reviews conducted on behalf of regulators for several nuclear construction projects, including Palo Verde, South Texas Project, Comanche Peak, and Seabrook.

Accion Group has advised numerous regulatory agencies regarding rate-making methodologies designed to equitably allocate the risks and responsibilities related to the costs of constructing and acquiring new and expensive utility assets. Our consultants boast in-depth experience in rate-making procedures, having participated in both legislative and regulatory rule-making on rates, and having prepared and presented rate cases before both federal and state agencies.
